it was a gift for my grandson, he loved it

Picked this collector's edition up in London at Harrods, attracted by the topic. My father helped run the JFK campaign in New Hampshire and West Virginia and was active in the LA convention. The hundreds of black and white pictures and commentary of the campaign were absorbing, and the original Norman Mailer piece was interesting again. Not sure it would have the emotional appeal to someone without the personal interest, but I found it exciting to go back to the way politics used to be, warts and all.

The tutorial is so intense that you wonder if you can follow the step by step instructions. It look so easy but its hard to do it. It will take me years to learn how to create these beautiful clay flowers. It will also take more time to do this. Overall the book is wonderful! presentation wise beautiful pictures but hard to make.

If only I could blink and be able to have the skill to make these flowers the same as the author does! But I'm sure if Ipractice (a lot!) I will be able to. Having the book to show step-by-step is very helpful. And the pages being in a binder-type book that can be folder over is great.

It looks to me that the intended audience of "Clay Art for Special Occasions" by Yukiko Miyai is not the beginners, but my experience with Deco Clay art has started with this book regardless of it. I'm taking Deco Clay classes, and "Clay Art for Special Occasions" is extremely helpful and inspiring for me. The book shows basic and more advanced clay craft techniques, images are very clear and explanations are done very well. "Clay Art for Special Occasions" was one of the reasons why I decided to create my Deco Clay Art gallery/blog.

This book I actually found a little easier that the first book "Clay Art for all Occasions". If you are a total beginner with Clay Art, I would suggest that you buy this book first. Both books are very well laid out and the step by step photographs are a real bonus as they are all in colour.I have made many flowers with both books and have found this book a bible with all the hints and tips. This book would be a great present for a crafter that like to use clay or even sugar craft as I have used these techniques in making Sugar Craft flowers!

Useful if you work with polymer clay, but not a polymer clay book. More of a "how to use our products" kind of book.

My nine-year-old gives this book and the whole series a thumbs-up! He read it in one day because he loved it so much. We had the pleasure of meeting Dan Gutman a couple of years ago and he was lovely. He truly understands elementary school kids and his series are really enjoyable. My son is already awaiting the next one!

My son really likes this author however the "Flashback Four" is a misfire- four students are selected for missions to go back in time however why these generally unlikeable and unremarkable children are selected is anyone's guess. The story tries to be part history lesson and part story but falls short on both fronts. In addition this book is so genuinely depressing with the kids constantly pointing out that all of these people around them are soon to die- other authors have tackled this same idea with more grace- honestly the characters are just the worst- the story is nonexistent- you will be wondering why you bought this so save yourself the money.

My 10 year old daughter loved the book and the characters. Just as important, the story of the Titanic became a real life adventure to her. In a matter of a few days book three will be released and she has already had me preorder it.

I read this with a group of students. All of us loved it and found it very informative as well as exciting. We can't wait to read the next book in this series to see what the next mission is.

My 8 year old son liked this series a lot. He's excited for the third book to come out.

on page 31, the author mentions Gay Marriage and then Gay people. I have no problems with this issue as an adult political issue, or a civil rights issue. BUT I did have a problem with having to explain to my child who is too young for any of this what the term meant. As an author writing a book on the Titanic and history, why did he have to include such a message? This is what is wrong with America, everything, everything is politically tinged...why? Why cant kids just be kids?

My 7-year-old was not very interested in reading in kindergarten and when he started primary school here in Singapore (where kids start reading early), but somehow he was introduced to the Geronimo Stilton series in school and he's become a major fan of the character and the book series and reading in general. With a positive attitude, his reading overall has improved quickly.To enforce this very good new habit of his I bought this CD set for him for Christmas, and nowadays when he asks me if he can use the computer he isn't asking so that he can play online games but so that he can listen to Geronimo Stilton. Sometimes he just listens, sometimes he reads along, but he always enjoys it. He wants to get more of the Geronimo Stilton CDs, but I think these will last him a while. He's listened to the stories two or three times in the one month since he got them.The production values are pretty good, and the reading voices are lively, the sound effects fun. Cheese nuggets!I have loaded the CDs into my computer - I find it better to have him to sit at a desk and listen to the chapters from a desktop computer rather than the stereo in the living room because it's easier to get out the books if he wants to read along; also, iTunes has helpful statistics, such as 'last listened' to help him remember where he left off, and he's happy that he gets a folder in iTunes all to himself.

FYI - The voice talent is very recognizable (he's an actor who also does a lot of voice talent) which throws off adults who might also listen to the stories in the car.

While purchased for our six year old grandson, both he and his older brother (who is nine) listened to all three books on the cd in one night. They throughly enjoyed it and want to have the next set. This CD has opened up the whole series of "Geronima Stilton" stories for both boys and they are eager to go to bed at night to listen to this CD over and over as they settle down to go to sleep.

I bought the Geronimo Stilton collection for my granddaughter and we listened to the 3 CDs at least 4 times already. I even listen to the great stories when I'm not with my granddaughter. The narration is great for all ages.

We love these books on CD. However, the story titled, "Cat and Mouse in a Haunted House" has completely freaked out my 5 1/2 year old and he is unable to sleep because he is so spooked by this story. Perhaps skip this particular story and save yourself the sleepless nights if you have a child who tends to get scared easily.

This book is adorable. We already owned "Veggies with Wedgies" and wanted this too. My 6 year old son was able to read this whole book to me, and he just got out of kindergarten, so the book is great for new readers. The words rhyme, are funny, and the pictures in this book are adorable. The tiny pea wearing tiny underwear will make you smile. A great book about all the types of underwear...clean, dirty, big, little, etc.

A very cute book for young children. We initially read it at the library and my girls were so sad to return it, I had to purchase it. My two year old and 4 year old love this book and can recite it by memory. They especially love the potato with his too small underwear.

I received the nicest thank you note and a video. Purchased for a friend's 4 year old. He loves it!!! they read it ever night and the four year old often "reads" it back to them. Successful gift. Funny book!

I buy multiple copies of this book to give out to my potty training students in my preschool classroom. The kiddos love how silly this book is & enjoy the idea of being a "big kid." If your child is needing some motivation for potty training, this is a good book you could add to your list.

After reading reviews I ordered this for a friend's grandson, he was just 2. His grandmother says he loves the book, wants to read it again and again. One or two reviews mentioned that it's great for the potty-training age. Mentioning it to my daughter with 2 adult sons, she laughed and said, "Oh yes, little boys would love to talk about underwear." Laughing is so good for any age.

I don't get it, because I'm not 2.5. But my kids think this book is HILARIOUS. I've since gifted another copy and I'll probably add it to the list I have of books to give as gifts.

This is such a cute and well done book. I love reading it so I know it won't get old when I read it the 100th time. Short sweet funny and informative!

My 4-year old grandson absolutely loves this book. I bought it on Kindle first, but ended up getting him the hard copy that he could carry around and read on his own. The illustrations are his favorite part! :-)

I find all books done by Writer's Digest extremely helpful, useful, informative, and well worth the cost Always written by published, experienced authors, editors, et al.kw

Ms. Fredette knows what she is talking about. The hopeful author should read all the valuable tips in this book and not write a word until he or she has reached page 240. It will save a great deal of hard work and heartbreak. The book is a collection of articles written by experts and covers pretty well every aspect of article writing. As an author, I only wish I had had a copy all those years ago.

An older version I picked up that was a bit better than the latest Writer's Digest edition. The newer edition is basically an update but its beginning to sag.

Good Reference for the beginner - it won't get you a job but it will get you going in the right direction. The material seems a little dated but still very useful.

I was very pleased with this book and constantly refer back to it for practical ideas and assistance. It's defintely an important book on my shelf!

This book is writen by a series of authors. Each chapter is written by a single author, and each write about a single theme. However the chapters are too shallow. No good substance found for a serious person trying to write a good article that may be a good candidate for publishing. The autors are more interested in telling how good they are (in their own perspective) than willing to teach anyone about their supposed knowledge.

This book was easy to read and had some valuable information but skipped over a lot of the nuts and bolts. I would pass on it next time.
