About the Author
Known throughout the world at the turn of the century as "Pastor"... Charles Taze Russell was an author, lecturer and minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on February 16, 1852. His authorship of the series, Studies in the Scriptures, included The Divine Plan of the Ages, The Time is At Hand, Thy Kingdom Come, The Battle of Armageddon, The Atonement Between God and Man, The New Creation, plus many others. His life was totally devoted to teaching the Bible, writing and publishing religious articles, lecturing and proclaiming the message of the blessings which would come to mankind when Christ establishes His Kingdom on earth. He did more than any other man in modern times to establish the faith of the people in the validity of the Holy Scriptures. His weekly sermons were published by a newspaper syndicate composing some 2000 newspapers with a combined circulation of fifteen million readers. "His writings are said to have greater newspaper circulation every week than those of any living man...." (Editor of the "Continent") In addition, his missionary tour of Russia, where he delivered lectures to thousands of Orthodox Jews on "the regathering of the Jewish people to Palestine," plus his travels to Japan, China, Korea and India to preach the Good News were widely known. On his return to America he was given a standing ovation at the New York City Hippodrome by thousands of Jews, his discourse on "The Returning Favor to Israel" being published by Hebrew newspapers, both in America and Europe. Convinced of the harmony of the Bible, Pastor Russell devoted his life to the cause to which he gave his life ... the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. He died while on a lecture tour ... October 31, 1916, leaving no estate whatever. Thus closed the career of a most remarkable Christian.

AS in "THE PLAN OF THE AGES" we endeavored to set forth the prominent outlines of the divine arrangement for human salvation from a purely Scriptural standpoint, so it is the purpose of this volume to show, on the same authority, that the various features of that plan have definitely appointed times and seasons for their accomplishment; that, so far as that plan has progressed, each succeeding feature of it has been accomplished exactly on time; and that the time is now at hand for its culmination in the blessing of all the families of the earth. `Gen. 28:14`; `Gal. 3:16` During the long centuries of the Gospel age, the Church, as instructed by her Lord, has prayed, "Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven." But, like drowsy children, because the time was long, many have almost forgotten the import of the words that now seem to die upon their lips. To all such whose hearts are still loyal to the Lord, we call in the words of the Apostle Paul, "It is high time to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the [Millennial] day is at hand." Yea, it is even at the doors. The kingdom of heaven is now at hand, not in its mere embryotic or incipient stage, as at our Lord's first advent (`Matt. 3:2`), but in the sense in which he declared it was yet to come (`John 18:36,37`)--"in power and great glory." Only those, however, who have made a careful study of the Plan of the Ages will be prepared to appreciate the teaching of this volume concerning the divinely appointed times and seasons for the development of the various features of that plan, and for its final consummation. It is hoped that none will undertake this study, therefore, before they have thoroughly comprehended the lessons of the preceding volume. Otherwise it will not be meat in due season to them. Truth is only meat in season when we are prepared to receive it. A child is not prepared to solve a mathematical problem until he has first been instructed in the use of figures and of language. So also with divine truth: it is built up step by step, and to gain an understanding of it we must ascend by the steps provided--carefully, of course, proving by the Scriptures every advance step we take, yet not fearful to take the steps as we thus find for them sure footing. Only those who have implicit faith in God, and to! whom a "Thus saith the Lord" is the end of all doubt and controversy, can be led by the Spirit of God into advanced truth as it becomes due--led into things new, as well as confirmed in things old and proved true by the same authority.

This book was amazing from beginning to end, but with Brother Charles T Russell you wouldn't expect anything less. His Devine writing and the desire to help others to understand Gods Great Wisdom , the dedication Brother Russell put into his work is remarkable . Reading this you will understand..
GOOD READING! BECAUSE THE TIME IT AT HAND!
This book is valuable as a tool to show how a charismatic leader can lead thousands of otherwise sane people to believe insane doctrine.In this book (which Charles Taze Russell initially published in 1907) it clearly expressed to the readers that Armageddon would come in 1914 and Christ would set up his reign. All earthly governments would be annihilated. Yet here we are still waiting and perhaps even listening to other false prophets predicting the end of the World in 2000, 2012 etc. (Interestingly CT Russell changed his prediction to 1915 and then1918 after1914 prediction failed.)Even so, the writers of this editions forward give faithful followers of "Pastor" Russell ways to legitimize the teachings of this man who criticizes the 2nd Adventist for their failed prophecy's by saying that ever since 1914 we have been indeed now living in the Millennial reign of Christ.Problems with this of course are:~ Where is Christ?~ Why did Russel Revise his predictions?~ Where is any evidence of God's judgement day (1000 year reign) as described in the book of Revelation?
You will find a finely connected Bible Chronology that allows you to place yourself in the timeline of God's plan. Most chronologies are a collection of miscellaneous calculations. This book presents one of the most interconnected datings to be found anywhere. There is an excellent chapter that clearly, and simply, places the correct date of our Lord's birth, based on the clear record of Scripture. Also many chapters dealing with aspects of our Lord's second advent.
This book expands on the outline presented in the preceding work by the same author, "The Divine Plan of the Ages". This is an excellent help for those in an honest search for Bible truth. It links Bible chronology with secular history to determine where we are on man's timeline in God's plan. A most interesting chapter entitled "Earth's Jubilee" expands on the typical Jewish old testament feature of the jubilees, and demonstrates the application to all of mankind. Of further interest is the evidence of scripture pointing to the identification of the time of Jesus' return!
